As Stay on the Lakes has grown, so have the conversations we have with our guests.
We’re often asked for recommendations; where to walk in winter, which pub feels cosiest, what the lakes are like outside of peak summer, or what it’s really like living and working here all year round. This articles page is our place to share those things properly.
Here, we’ll be sharing seasonal guides, local favourites, behind the scenes stories, and the occasional unexpected moment that makes working here special. Some will be practical, some reflective, and some simply about things we’ve noticed while living and hosting by the water.
Looking ahead to 2026, it feels like an exciting time for us. Stay on the Lakes has reached a point where we know that offering thoughtful, well looked after stays, staying hands on, while keeping the experience personal, is what matters most to our guests. This year is all about building on that.
We want to use this space to highlight quieter seasons, share stories from guests and hosts, capture the atmosphere of the lakes as they change throughout the year and give people inspiration on how to make the most of their time here.
